Just finished these models today. They were in the collection for two years! Two sets of 3 plastic trees from Games Workshop. I undercoated them chaos black before going to town with my new Airbrush. There is actually more shading on them than you can see in the photo, it mostly whited out a bit in the bright light. I did one base with knackered barren trees and the other with the plastic leaves on.

They pop out of the bases, so if you are moving a large set of figures through the forest area you can remove the tree. This is great for games like Warmachine where the forest is an abstract area of ground treated specifically as woods. Certain rules apply to LOS, movement and cover whilst on the base and the whole area is treated the same.
